Meet Adrienne!

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Adrienne has extensive experience in outpatient orthopedics, orthopedic spinal conditions, subacute care, and teletherapy. She also enjoys learning and implementing the principles of pain neuroscience and education into patient care plans.

We sat down with Adrienne to learn more about her career, passions, goals, and personal favorites.

Did you always know you wanted to be in healthcare?

No, I actually wanted to be a graphic designer before deciding to go into healthcare.

Why did you decide to study physical therapy?

I decided to do physical therapy when my mom was diagnosed with MS. I realized that PT was beneficial for people who have been diagnosed with MS. The decision was solidified when I was in undergrad and I started working as a physical therapy technician.

How many years have you been in healthcare?

12

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Positive patient outcomes. When you see a patient accomplish things they never thought they could because of an injury or pain, it’s an amazing feeling.

What is the most common misconception about pain management?

That it cannot be managed and/or it will never go away. Pain is not something normal that you have to live with for the rest of your life.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Indecisiveness leads to failure, so always be decisive in all aspects of your life.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

South Africa, because I have never been and I’ve always heard good things.

What’s your favorite way to relax after a long day?

Reading a good thriller. It’s like a movie in my head.

What motivates you?

My family.

What’s your go-to meal?

Homemade burrito bowl: ground chicken, brown rice, avocado, diced sweet potato, black beans, corn, chopped peppers, and shredded cheese.
