Digital Therapeutics Leader Recognized for Achievements in Next-Generation MSK Care
NEW YORK, December 14, 2021 — CB Insights has named Kaia Health, the digital therapeutics company on a mission to democratize access to high quality healthcare, to its third annual Digital Health 150, which showcases the 150 most promising private digital health companies in the world. This is the third consecutive year that the company has been recognized by the market research firm. This year’s Digital Health 150 was unveiled live during CB Insights’ annual Future of Health.
Kaia Health was recognized in the Digital Therapeutics & Self-Help Tools category for its next-generation MSK solution that integrates into the existing care landscape. In order to make effective therapy accessible to patients anywhere and at any time, Kaia Health offers digital programs to help people with chronic MSK pain. The platform has grown to include increased support for large patient populations as well as those seeking a proactive routine to stay strong and pain free.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by CB Insights as one of the 2021’s most innovative digital health startups,” said Nigel Ohrenstein, president of Kaia Health. “Our mission to democratize healthcare by providing access to care, anywhere and at any time, is revolutionizing how MSK care is delivered, and we look forward to continuing our work to tap into the true potential of digital therapeutics in the space. It is an honor to be included alongside such innovative and disruptive digital health companies. Congratulations to our fellow winners!”
Through an evidence-based approach, the CB Insights research team selected the Digital Health 150 from a pool of over 11,000 companies, including applicants and nominees. They were chosen based on several factors, including data submitted by the companies, company business models and momentum in the market, and Mosaic scores, CB Insights’ proprietary algorithm that measures the overall health and growth potential of private companies.
“This year’s Digital Health 150 is one of our most expansive yet, spotlighting 16 categories including virtual care, clinical trials tech, and workflow automation, as well as adding new categories such as home health tech and computer-aided imaging,” said Brian Lee, senior vice president of CB Insights’ Intelligence Unit. “Last year’s class has seen more than 20 exits, raised an additional $18.6 billion in aggregate funding, and announced over 250 partnerships since being recognized, and we’re excited to see the future success of this year’s winners.”
Earlier this year, Kaia Health announced a partnership with Luna On-Demand Physical Therapy to further extend access to high-quality care for MSK patients by delivering physical therapy to a patient’s doorstep. The unique offering expands access to care for more members, including high-risk patients, and advances the Kaia Health mission to make effective therapies accessible to patients anywhere and at any time. Integrating the Luna physical therapy service is the latest addition to Kaia Health’s clinically optimized MSK care pathway, which consists of live human coaching; tele-consultations with physical therapists; proprietary computer vision technology for exercise feedback with progress monitoring; and an expert, in-house medical review team.
