Acquisition strengthens Kaia’s impact in musculoskeletal care while expanding access to AI-first healthcare for millions worldwide

MUNICH — [January 28, 2026] — Kaia Health, a pioneer in digital therapy for musculoskeletal (MSK) and pulmonary care, today announced that it has been acquired by Sword Health. The acquisition marks the culmination of Kaia’s journey as a standalone innovator and the beginning of a powerful new chapter within the world’s leading AI Health company.
Since its founding, Kaia Health has been driven by a singular mission: to make high-quality, evidence-based care accessible to anyone, anywhere. From establishing a leading presence in Germany’s digital health reimbursement pathway to reaching millions of members through U.S. employers and other healthcare partnerships, Kaia has redefined how people can manage chronic conditions.
“Joining Sword Health represents a powerful next chapter for the mission we’ve spent over a decade building.” said Adam Pellegrini, CEO of Kaia Health. “We share a common vision: using technology to democratize access to high-quality care . By becoming part of Sword, we can significantly expand our impact for the millions of patients who rely on Kaia today.”
In the United States, Kaia Health has enabled access to digital MSK care for millions of members.. Following the acquisition, these populations will be further supported by Sword Health’s AI Care platform, ensuring uninterrupted care while benefiting from Sword’s industry-leading outcomes, engagement, and cost efficiency.
In Europe, Kaia Health has established a strong presence through Germany’s digital health reimbursement pathway, which provides access to digital therapies for more than 70 million people. As part of Sword Health, Kaia’s foundation in Germany will serve as a key pillar for further expansion across Europe, reinforcing a shared commitment to working within national health systems to deliver scalable, evidence-based care.
The acquisition reflects the complementary strengths of both organizations: Kaia’s European market presence and strong technology foundations, combined with Sword Health’s advanced AI models, global scale, and expanding portfolio across physical, women’s, and mental health.
Hogan Lovells International LLP served as lead legal counsel to Kaia Health for the transaction.
